Borders. Emergency services were called to the scene at Scarlaw Hill near Watch Water Reservoir at around 3.30pm on Saturday, August 1.
An air ambulance and the Borders Search and Rescue team were also called to help and quickly found the stricken 74-year-old woman.Despite their best efforts, the pensioner was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a 74-year-old woman having taken unwell at Scarlaw Hill near the Watch Water Reservoir in the Borders shortly before 3.30pm on Saturday, 1 August.
