Tragedy as girl, 6, dies from injuries after tree falls on her at primary school

A six-year-old girl has died in hospital after being injured by a falling tree at school. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to Gosforth Park First School, Newcastle upon Tyne, on Friday afternoon following the incident at around 1pm.

Paramedics attended and the girl was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary by road with an air ambulance doctor on board. She died in hospital on Saturday morning, Chronicle Live reports.
