TikTok has apologised to black creators who have ‘felt unsafe, unsupported, or suppressed’ as users support the Black Lives Matter movement following the death of George Floyd.

The platform previously faced backlash amid claims that it had ‘hidden’ the Black Lives Matter hashtag. TikTok later explained it was a ‘technical glitch’ that had affected many hashtags.
