A third shared: "Poor Deidre but she said she's under Addenbrookes cancer care, can't fault them at all. She's in safe hands." Meanwhile a fourth viewer tweeted: "Lots of love Deidre.
Hope the treatment is successful x."Deidre, 77, decided to seek advice from her GP last summer after she felt "achy" and after realising that the tension she often felt in her shoulders had spread to her right breast.
Before the TV star jetted off on holiday, she spoke to a doctor about her concerns, before seeing an advanced nurse practitioner in person. After undergoing a mammogram and an ultrasound scan, her doctor could see that something wasn't quite right and she was booked in for a biopsy as soon as her trip came to an end.The biopsy discovered that the cells were malignant.
Sharing her story in The Sun, Deidre explained how she has tiny carcinoma, a cluster of malignant cells in a duct in her right breast. She wrote: "This is labelled high-grade, which means it is the sort that would grow and spread aggressively — had it not been discovered so early."This is a live TV story and is being constantly updated.
