Viewers praised This Morning on Thursday as the ITV chat show's first deaf chef, Yvonne Cobb, used sign language for her cooking segment.

During the latest instalment, Yvonne presented the show's first-ever live deaf cookery item, where she made her childhood chicken chimichangas.

Yvonne made the programme more accessible for viewers who use British Sign Language as their preferred language. While the segment also included an interpreter for Yvonne and an interpreter for viewers at home.

Introducing Thursday's show, host Phillip Schofield said: "Lots coming up on the show today for you but something we're really excited about is our cookery item. "We're always, as you well know, excited about food but today we are particularly looking forward to welcoming our cook, Yvonne Cobb." Holly Willoughby added: "Yes, it's Yvonne's first time in the studio and for the first time, we have a deaf cook who uses British Sign Language to make a dish on air." Viewers were quick to praise This Morning for the "amazing" segment as one person tweeted: "Yes #ThisMorning for this cooking segment.
