He is currently the co-presenter of This Morning (2002–present) and Dancing on Ice (2006–2014, 2018–present) alongside Holly Willoughby. His other work for ITV includes All Star Mr & Mrs (2008–2016), The Cube (2009–2015), and 5 Gold Rings (2017–present). Schofield gained national attention working for the BBC, first as a continuity presenter for Children's BBC on weekdays from 1985 to 1987, then as a presenter on the children's Saturday morning magazine show Going Live! between September 1987 and April 1993.

This Morning fans were delighted to see Holly Willoughby and Josie Gibson host the popular ITV show together and have asked the broadcaster to make them a permanent duo.Presenter Holly made her return to the ITV daytime show on Thursday presenting alongside Josie as she covered for Phillip Schofield, who is currently isolating due to testing positive for Covid-19.Opening the show, the bubbly presenters joked the "blondes were taking over" but viewers at home were certainly hoping that they did.Taking to Twitter, fans shared their joy seeing the women host the programme together.One spectator penned: "Definitely prefer Holly & Josie to Phil & Josie."Another commented: "Absolutely loving the @HollyWills and @JosiesTweet pairing on today’s @ThisMorning already, should have this on Sunday’s @DancingOnIce while @Schofe is currently isolating."A third impressed viewer said: "Love Josie as a presenter.
