Princess Beatrice revived a style debuted by The Queen in 1961 for her wedding day, almost 60 years on. The dress is made from Peau De Soie taffeta in shades of ivory, trimmed with ivory Duchess satin.

It is encrusted with diamanté and has a geometric checkered bodice. When The Queen wore the dress, it had embellished shoulder straps, but after being remodelled and fitted by Angela Kelly, the Queen’s trusted dresser and adviser, and Stewart Parvin, her favourite designer, it now has puffed organza sleeves.Having become a trusted couturier to the Queen’s mother during her husband’s reign, Norman Hartnell was awarded a Royal warrant as dressmaker to The Queen in 1957.
