But those dreams have been dashed as owners say they are simply paying for a bit of rubble. On the surface, the Orchid Point developments, made up of Empress Mill and the Printhouse, on Chester Road in Old Trafford looked like a promising place to live.
The grand buildings are located just a few minutes’ drive away from the city centre and around the corner from Manchester United’s Old Trafford ground.
But, on the inside, leaking roofs, mould, exposed electrical wires and a dodgy gas connection paint a completely different picture.
