Blackfriars Street has been turned into a one-way route for vehicles to make space for the cycle lanes which were trialled last year on a temporary basis.
The 150 metre stretch now has segregated cycle lanes with reflective wands on both sides of the road, reserving the majority of the carriageway for cyclists with a new pedestrian island installed to help people cross the road.
