The NHS Nightingale field hospital, which will have the capacity for 4,000 coronavirus patients, is due to open later this week.
Photos from inside the ExCel Centre in London show how the temporary hospital is being set up. Soldiers and trade contractors are converting the exhibition centre, which usually hosts events and conferences, into the first temporary NHS hospital to treat patients during the coronavirus pandemic.
Initially 500 beds equipped with ventilators and oxygen will be used to treat the seriously ill. The hospital will eventually be able to hold up to 4,000 patients.
