Peso Pluma‘s upcoming gig in Tijuana, Mexico has been cancelled after death threats were made agains the singer by alleged Cartel members.The Mexican artist was set to play Tijuana on October 14, but the gig has been called off after four banners were hung from bridges in the city telling him that if he were to play the gig, it would be “your last show”.The threats were made by alleged members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, and cited the “disrespect and loose tongue” of the singer as the reasons for the threats.The banners read in full: “This goes to Peso Pluma, refrain from presenting yourself on October 14, because it will be your last show due to your disrespect and loose tongue, you show up and we are going to [break you].”Announcing the cancellation of the gigs, the artist’s record labels Double P Records and Prajin Music Group said in a statement: “For the safety of everyone involved we will cancel our show in Tijuana. The 36-song set has logged a total of 15 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 while the buzzy “Last Night” spends a 13th at the peak, surpassing Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” as the third-ever album to have ruled over Billboard 200 for at least 11 weeks while one of its songs leads on the Hot 100. “One Thing at a Time’s” 110,500 album units managed to ward off Young Thug’s surprise debut of “Business Is Business,” which entered the chart at No. 2 with 89,000 units and 106 million streams. In the past few months, Wallen has also been challenged by K-pop champions (Twice, Jimin, Agust D, Seventeen) and stars ranging from Ed Sheeran to Melanie Martinez, Niall Horan and others. To this day, Wallen’s 2021 album “Dangerous: The Double Album” also remains in the top 10 of the chart (this week it’s at No. 7).

Thania Garcia Rauw Alejandro and Argentine producer Bizarrap have dropped a new song called “Baby Hello,” the first single from Alejandro’s upcoming “Playa Saturno” album. The project will serve as a counterpart to 2022’s “Saturno” and comes while the urbano artist is busy touring Latin America on a massive stadium run that kicked off earlier this year. Continuing the 90s EDM influence of “Saturno,” “Baby Hello” comes just one day after the release of Alejandro and Bizarrap’s “BZRP Music Session #56.” The arrival of “Baby Hello” was teased at the end of the music video for that track which has since generated over 9.2 million views. Alejandro joins a star-studded lineup of artists who have participated in Bzrp Music Sessions, including Shakira, Residente, Villano Antillano, with the latest being Peso Pluma.

Thania Garcia Premios Juventud, Univision’s awards show for Spanish-language pop culture, has announced its 2023 nominees for the 20th annual ceremony taking place in La Isla del Encanto, Puerto Rico on July 20. This year, nine musicians are the most-nominated acts of the evening, among them: Bad Bunny, Becky G, Grupo Frontera, Maluma, Peso Pluma, Rauw Alejandro, Rosalía, Shakira and Tini. The packed lineup clearly reflects the addition of 15 new categories including best song for my ex, best urban track, best urban mix, best dembow song, best trap song, pop mix of the year, best pop/urban collaboration, best tropical album, among others. Actor and presenter Alejandra Espinoza returns as host and will be joined by a lineup of performances to be announced at a later date. In its latest tracking week, as measured by Luminate, Wallen’s “One Thing at a Time” earns the equivalent of 138,000 sales in the United States and 174 million streams of its 36 songs. With another consecutive week at No. 1, the 36-song set joins Wallen’s previous “Dangerous: The Double Album” as the only album to log nine weeks in a row at the summit. The LP dominated the list for 10 weeks without interruption in early 2021 and sits at No. 5 this week in its 118th week in the top 10.

The cumbia song logs over 28.6 million streams and 6.3 million airplay impressions while the corrido “Ella Baila Sola” rises to No. 4 — the highest peak in the genre’s history — after debuting at No. 17 and rising to No. 5 in the last tracking week. Both “unx100to” and “Ella Baila Sola” also lead Billboard’s international global songs chart with rising artist Peso Pluma clocking in a third collaboration, “La Bebe” with Yvng Lucas, in the top 10.

New in the top 10 of the songs chart this week is Drake’s Kim Kardashian-sampling “Search & Rescue,” which launched to No. 2 on the list. As Drake has been known to do, the track was announced just a day prior to its official release on April 7, and still, the song logged nearly 34 million streams as the Toronto rapper’s 35th top-five hit.
