Kraftwerk member Wolfgang Flür was reportedly tricked into working with an imposter pretending to be Daft Punk‘s Thomas Bangalter.On Friday (March 28), Flür released his latest album ‘Times’, which supposedly featured some collaborations with Bangalter. Flür, who was Kraftwerk’s drummer from 1973 to 1987, has been involved in music since his departure, releasing his first solo record in 2015.However, Flür had teased a Bangalter collaboration for the last two years.

Kraftwerk have announced details of a new ‘Multimedia’ tour, which is set to take place across North American next spring.Legendary electro pioneer Ralf Hütter and co. will be returning to the US to celebrate an upcoming milestone for the band: 50 years since they shared their breakthrough album ‘Autobahn’.It also commemorates five decades since they first embarked on their tour of North America, which took place back in 1975.In total, 27 dates have been lined up for March and April 2025, and the tour kicks off with an opening night at the Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia on March 6.

The events will conclude with a tribute to Kraftwerk in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the electronic pioneers’ classic album ‘Autobahn‘, which was released on November 1, 1974, while there’s also an afterparty on November 23 and a sound installation each day.The official anniversary of Robert Moog’s modular voltage-controlled synth is October 12 – 60 years to the day when the engineer first demonstrated it at the Audio Engineering Society’s New York convention.The Moog was the first commercial synthesiser and hit the mainstream with ‘Switched-On Bach’, an album of Bach compositions arranged for the synth by Wendy Carlos in 1968.

Kraftwerk have paid tribute to the late Ryuichi Sakamoto with a cover of ‘Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence’.The German electronic pioneers performed the track at Fuji Rock Festival in the renowned composer’s home country of Japan.‘Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence’ is taken from the 1983 war film of the same name, whose soundtrack was the first that Sakamoto created in his illustrious career. Kraftwerk to perform classic albums and greatest hits at Los Angeles residency

Kraftwerk have announced plans to perform some of their albums in full at an upcoming Los Angeles residency.The electronic music icons are set to kick off the new shows later this year, held at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.Set to kick off on May 21, it will span across nine shows and see them open by playing their album ‘Autobahn’ in full. First released back in 1974, the performance will also coincide with the 50th anniversary of the LP.The following seven shows will see them play other albums, ‘Radio-Activity’, ‘Trans Europe Express’, ‘The Man-Machine’, ‘Computer World’, ‘Techno Pop’, ‘The Mix’, and ‘Tour de France’ in full.In addition to the full album tracklists, each night will feature a second set of additional songs from throughout their catalogue.
