Interpol share ‘The Black EP’ on streaming platforms and release rare 2002 documentary
Interpol have marked the 20th anniversary of their debut album ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’ by sharing its companion project, ‘The Black EP’, on streaming platforms – listen to it below.‘The Black EP’ features the studio version of the single ‘Say Hello To The Angels’, a demo of ‘NYC’ and four other songs from the ‘Turn On The Bright Lights’ era that were recorded live for a Radio France session in 2002, including the non-album bonus track ‘Specialist’.Additionally, Interpol have posted a 2002 mini-documentary on the band containing interviews as well as live performance footage of ‘PDA’, ‘NYC’, ‘Untitled’ and ‘Stella Was A Diver And She Was Always Down’.Per a press release, the 13-minute video has been given a “glorious hi-res restoration” after previously being “lost in the annals of 144p YouTube rips”. DMA’S have shared their new single ‘I Don’t Need To Hide’ and announced a trio of UK shows for October – you can listen to the track in the below video.After previewing its release last week, the Australian band have now returned with their first new material since 2021’s ‘I Love You Unconditionally, Sure Am Going To Miss You’ EP.Speaking about ‘I Don’t Need To Hide’, which was produced by Konstantin Kersting and Rich Costey, DMA’S guitarist Jonny Took explained: “There’s a confidence you obtain when you find someone who loves you for all your faults, quirks and obscurities.“They make you feel like you don’t need to hide anything from anyone anymore.”The video for DMA’S ‘I Don’t Need To Hide’, directed by Lucy Knox, has been released today (August 17) – you can watch it below.DMA’S have also announced three headline UK shows in October, with dates set in Manchester, London and Glasgow.Tickets for these gigs will go on general sale on Friday (August 19) at 10am from here. Chloe Moriondo has announced details of her second album, titled ‘Suckerpunch’, which will come out later this year.The new album follows the singer’s 2021 debut ‘Blood Bunny’, and will land on October 7 via Fueled By Ramen.Ahead of the album’s release, it is being previewed by a new single called ‘Fruity’. Discussing the track and album in a statement, Moriondo said: “‘Fruity’ and this album in general are going to be a slap in the fucking face!! The Wombats have returned with the details of a six-track EP titled ‘Is This What It Feels Like To Feel Like This?’, announcing it alongside a visualiser for the title track.On the breezy new song’s origins, frontman Matthew ‘Murph’ Murphy said in a press release: “I remember driving past an extremely rundown hotel and wondering what the hell could be going on in there, and that’s where this song was born.
