Blossoms have shared their new single ‘To Do List (After The Breakup)’, inspired by the viral poetry book Milk And Honey by Rupi Kaur.The track features Manchester singer Findlay and was produced by James Skelly. It marks the first new music since their 2022 LP ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb‘.

New Order have announced a one-off show in Los Angeles, with Blossoms to support.The band will be performing at the 6,000-capacity YouTube Theater in the city on November 15, which is a warm-up show ahead of the band’s appearance at Darker Waves Festival in Huntington Beach on November 18. Tom Grennan has announced his biggest headlining show to date at London’s Gunnersbury Park.Taking place on August 10, 2024, the BRIT and Ivor Novello- nominated artist will take over the famous open-air venue with indie favourites Blossoms joining in as opening support. Sam Ryder and Bloc Party have been added to the list of artists joining Music Venue Trust’s United By Music UK tours.Organised by The National Lottery and Music Venue Trust, the tour sees over 150 gigs visit over 130 venues across the UK, in support of the grassroots music sector.Now, adding to the already extensive list of musicians taking part, English alt-rock band Bloc Party have been added to the bill, as well as former Eurovision sensation Sam Ryder. The former will be performing next month, taking to the stage at The Hairy Dog venue in Derby on July 20, while Ryder will be headed to Southend on September 8 for a show at Chinnerys.Other previously announced artists taking part in the one-off shows around the UK include Cat Burns, Blossoms, Witch Fever, Hamish Hawk and Metronomy.“These are the venues where myself and so many of my pals started at and still play.

Rick Astley and Blossoms have announced the return of their Smiths supergroup covers band for a secret set at Glastonbury 2023, with the pop icon telling NME about what went into it and the backlash from Johnny Marr.Astley, who this weekend made his Glastonbury debut by opening up the Pyramid Stage, made headlines last year when he joined Blossoms on stage in London to perform a number of Smiths covers – before they then played a number of full gigs dedicated to the iconic ’80s indie icons. Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr was less than pleased having not been told about it, before telling NME that he’d been in touch with Blossoms and “dealt with it“.Now, they’ve announced that the tribute project will be performing at Glastonbury on the Woodsies stage at 6pm tonight (Friday June 23), filling in one of the TBA slots with a secret set.“I can’t tell you how much I love doing this,” Astley told NME of the covers band. “I know it’s sacrilege and they should hang the lot of us on the line for doing it, but I also just don’t care.

Eurovision Legacy gigs across the UK.The initiative was launched with a special free concert for 15,000 people in the Eurovision Village on Wednesday (May 10) and follows the successful delivery of the Liverpool leg of the National Lottery’s United By Music Tour, which sees artists such as Lightning Seeds, The Coral and Miles Kane playing local venues in support of the live music sector.Starting in mid-June, the United by Music Tour will see both established and up-and-coming artists performing in over 130 locations across the country. Blossoms have scored their third UK Number One album with ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb’, it has been confirmed.The Stockport band’s latest record follows their previous full-length releases, 2016’s ‘Blossoms’ and 2020’s ‘Foolish Loving Spaces’, in topping the Official UK Album Chart.As well as hitting the top spot on the main album chart, the new album has also claimed the Number One position on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart. Physical formats accounted for 90 per cent of ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb’’s total sales, the Official Charts Company has revealed.“It’s happened again! Ribbon Around the Bomb is the Official UK Number 1 album this week – [our] third time,” the band told OfficialCharts.com.

Blossoms’ gig in Stockport last night (May 3) was interrupted by a fire alarm, causing the venue to be temporarily evacuated.The band were due to play a hometown show at the Stockport Plaza after premiering their Ribbon Around The Bomb film, which is accompanying their new album of the same name.Before the band went on stage, however, the Plaza’s fire alarm went off, forcing an evacuation of the audience.Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, one audience member said: “Blossoms weren’t on yet. There’s a film on promoting their new album and they cut that short, and someone came on and said, ‘Due to circumstances out of our control our alarms have gone off and we will have to evacuate the building’.”Sorry about the fire alarm that went off at @StockportPlaza1.

Blossoms have revealed how their unlikely feud with Johnny Marr over forming a Smiths covers band was put to bed.Last year, the band teamed up with Rick Astley to cover The Smiths. While playing a gig in London, they invited Astley on stage to perform ‘Panic’ and ‘This Charming Man’.The artists subsequently announced two Smiths covers shows in Manchester and London the following month, with Blossoms becoming Astley’s backing band for a full set of theirs and fans’ most-loved Smiths songs.At the time, Marr gave her verdict on the covers, writing on Twitter: “This is both funny and horrible at the same time”. He also added: “Well, I met The Blossoms a few weeks ago and they elected to not mention it.

Blossoms have announced details of a new film based around their upcoming ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb’, and a premiere event where they’ll perform live.The Stockport five-piece’s fourth album is set for release on April 29, and has been previewed by the singles ‘The Sulking Poet’, ‘Ode To NYC’, ‘Care For’ and its title track.On May 3, the week after the album’s release, the band will head home to Stockport’s Plaza Theatre for the premiere of a new film, also called Ribbon Around The Bomb and directed by Arctic Monkeys‘ Creative Director, Edwin Burdis, who worked on the band’s ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ and ‘AM’ albums, as well as the videos for Blossoms’ new album campaign.Following the film premiere, Blossoms will play the new album in full.
