Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Strictly business as light-footed Lanarkshire sisters help raise £75k for hospice

Two Lanarkshire sisters strutted their stuff on the dance floor - and helped raise a whopping £75,000 for a Glasgow hospice in the process.Lanarkshire Live previously told how siblings Clare Cannon and Tracy Docherty were taking part in a Strictly Come Dancing event to support the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice.Although the duo didn't dance away with the trophy, they did help the event to be a massive success, with former Strictly star AJ Pritchard making a special guest appearance and performing his best moves.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Since their mum passed away the siblings have taken part in numerous fund raising events, raising an impressive £83,000 in the process.They enjoyed their latest challenge at the (A Little Less) Strictly Come Dancing event, where they were paired with professional dancers and learned various routines over a three-month period.Clare told Lanarkshire Live: "I was so scared I'd freeze and forget my routines as it's the first time I've ever done anything like this but it all went great."It was one of the best experiences I've ever had.
