John Whaite was mortified as Steph McGovern joked that she saves the TV chef in her phone as “puff dust” on Steph's Packed Lunch.During Tuesday’s instalment of the popular Channel 4 daytime show, the Strictly star joined Steph and stand-up comic Russell Kane to cook up a storm for their host of celebrity guests. As he took to the kitchen, he shared one of his guilty pleasures for when he is suffering a severe hangover which consists of a rice cake slathered with butter and topped with salmon fish paste with a dash of siracha to finish. While the group tried their hand at the simple afternoon snack, the 46-year-old comic couldn’t help but fire off some hilariously risqué jokes on air. While John tried to convince his fellow stars to try out his niche snack, he explained how using the jarred fish paste reminded him of his childhood.

He told viewers: “One of my favourite things to eat at home is a rice cracker with loads of butter, fish paste from the jar – it's like my childhood, it’s amazing – and some siracha as well which you’re all going to try.” Baffled by the odd food pairing, Steph asked: “How did this come about?” as John recalled how he came up with the unique recipe after a drunken night out.

He explained: “Well, I got in from a night out once and I was really hungover. Not really hungover – really drunk, and I needed something really salty and quick, and then I had it the next day as well.” It was at this point that the flirty Londoner chirped up as he interrupted, saying: “You should have just texted me, John.

Next time – just text,” as the star went red-faced and hid behind the counter. And the giggles kept going throughout the segment as Steph went on to share her confusion over the strange dish.
