Black footballing heroes have long made a name for themselves in English clubs throughout the land. Manchester City is no exception to the rule with a host of black British players, past and present, making history.
The likes of Micah Richards, Yaya Toure, and Shaun Goater, to Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho, have all stamped their authority on this historic club and ensured that their actions live long in the memory of City fans.
But none of these players would have appeared at Maine Road, or the Etihad, without the trailblazing Cityzens career of one Stan Horne, City's first black player and the first black man to achieve a top division championship winning medal in England.
