St Mirren chief executive Tony Fitzpatrick believes the time has come to expand the Scottish top flight to 16 teams. A number of SPFL clubs are in talks to expand divisions to 14 sides to avoid any relegation this season should the fixture list not be completed, as football associations across the UK try to limit the financial damage caused by the current shutdown.
