A musical adaptation of the NBC television series Smash, will open on Broadway in the 2024-2025 season. The original series producers Robert Greenblatt, Neil Meron, and Steven Spielberg made the announcement together. “Smash is near and dear to my heart,” Spielberg said in a statement. “And it was always my hope that a musical inspired by the show would eventually come to the stage.

Katharine McPhee starred as Karen Cartwright opposite Megan Hilty as Ivy Lynn.
The show also followed Debra Messing and Christian Borle‘s characters Julia and Tom in their creation of the musical.
