Six English areas with high coronavirus infection rates but no lockdown measures

Britain is reeling from the freezing of lockdown easing with the imposition of new measures across large swathes of the north.

People in Greater Manchester, and parts of East Lancashire and West Yorkshire cannot now meet up with family or friends indoors or in gardens after a surge in cases.

And planned relaxations taking effect today were dramatically suspended for a fortnight nationwide, including the opening of ice rinks, bowling alleys and casinos.

While areas such as Blackburn with Darwen, Bradford, Rochdale and Oldham have been widely publicised after Leicester for their high infection rates, there are areas currently not covered by any new measures that are showing signs of a resurgence.
