A ‘sickening’ Test and Trace text scam is circulating that tries to trick people into isolating. The scam started circulating back in May, but has resurfaced in Scotland this week, according to the Chartered Trading Standards Institute.
It sees members of the public receiving texts informing them that they’ve come into contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, and prompts them to enter their personal details on a bogus website.
NHS Scotland said: "We've been made aware of a text message scam circulating, where messengers are posing as Test and Protect contact tracers are getting in touch with people and asking them to reply to the message and self-isolate immediately. “This is not a genuine message from our Test and Protect
