Horrific racist graffiti was daubed on a defibrillator, used to save lives, in a town centre in Greater Manchester. The words 'for whites only' and 'no n******' were written on the device in the civic square in Denton, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Denton and Reddish MP Andrew Gwynne, who after learning of the graffiti went to clean it off with his wife Allison, says he will be asking Tameside Council to check CCTV in the area in a bid to catch the "scumbag" who did it.

In a post on Facebook Mr Gwynne wrote: "Whichever scumbag daubed horrific racist graffiti on the Civic Square defibrillator, just to let you know Allison and I went to scrub it off. "When we got there, local resident, Victoria, was already cleaning it off.
