A 29-year-old woman who was in the prime of her life tragically died of sepsis just 10 days after being diagnosed with the condition. 'Fit and healthy' Rachel Day enjoyed a Bank Holiday weekend with friends, sipping cocktails and watching the sunset.
But on the Bank Holiday Monday, she 'felt like she was dying'. She 'screamed uncontrollably in pain' on the phone to her mum and begged for help.
Rachel, described by her parents as a 'truly unique character', was rushed to hospital where she diagnosed with sepsis. READ NEXT: 'We didn't think our newborn was going to pull through - we lived hour-by-hour' She was placed in an induced coma before her condition deteriorated.
Just 10 days later, she tragically died. Since her death in June 2017, Rachel's parents Bernie and Steve have made huge strides in raising awareness of sepsis for both the public and members of clinical staff, Wales Online reports.
