£30,000 refurbishing the old butchers into a boutique sex store.Despite the application refusal, the store will remain as a warehouse for their online store, but Mr Miller and Mr Powley want the public to be able to come and shop inside.

They say unlocking the doors to the public will help employ more staff from the seaside town of Barmouth. When the owners originally put in an application it was delayed as the council didn't have the legislation to assess it.

After the council addressed this, another application hearing was scheduled but this was postponed by the owners claiming the council wanted to use out-of-date evidence gathered the previous year.Speaking to the Cambrian News at the time, Mr Powley said: "The whole consultation process should be run again from the start for fairness and openness, to allow people to have their say."The council is gagging the residents of Barmouth."At the time of the original application, there were a number of objections to the opening of a sex shop and the refurbishment had not been completed.

However, Mr Powley believes the mood towards the business has changed that residents can now see the front of the shop. He says that if new evidence was gathered that Gwynedd Council would support Eva Amour as a shop. “People love it, and most of our customers have been locals who have nothing but praise for how the shop looks,” Mr Powley said.“We want a licence, we always have.”For the latest breaking news and stories from across the globe from the Daily Star, sign up for our newsletter by clicking here. But despite this, the council rejected the application to unlock the doors – claiming that it wouldn't be in character with its surroundings and was placed too close to where children roam.
