war hero who is battling Motor Neurone Disease has said he has already got 'the best Christmas present' after travelling across the Atlantic for pioneering stem cell treatment.
Stuart Carmichael, 40, has been fighting the debilitating disease for two years and and has seen his condition deteriorate during lockdown.
But the dad-of-three has been given new hope after flying to Mexico for stem cell treatment in a bid to stimulate new cell production in his brain.
It is hoped the ground breaking treatment will help to recover his speech and mobility.Pals and well-wishers dug deep raising more than £40,000 to send the Iraq and Afghanistan veteran to the clinic in Guadalajara, in South America.He returned home last Friday after 15 days of intense.
