Scots teenager seriously assaulted in 'violent and unprovoked' attack as police launch probe

assaulted in a 'violent and unprovoked' attack in West Dunbartonshire. The 16-year-old boy was on his way to meet his family when he was approached by two men who pushed him to the ground and battered him.The terrifying incident happened on a footpath at The Saltings, near to Portpatrick Road in Old Kilpatrick at around 9.30pm on Saturday evening.The two men responsible were with three women aged between 18-20 years of age, who watched on as the boy was attacked.

The injured youngster was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he is being treated for his injuries.

Hospital staff describe his condition as stable but detectives in Clydebank are now appealing for information.The first suspect is described as white, aged.
