Scotland's New Year babies give parents magical start to 2021

New Year babies weren’t as quick as normal to make their first appearance. The first baby thought to have been born in Scotland in 2021 arrived at 12.19am at Wishaw General Hospital but no details were available about the tot yesterday.

The first to arrive in the Lothian area didn’t make her first appearance until 12.54am.Little Isabelle Ailsa Paton tipped the scales at 6lb 8.5 oz when she was born to Jennifer,32, and Richard Paton, 33, from Ratho, Edinburgh in Simpson’s Centre for Reproductive Health in the city’s Royal Infirmary.Richard said: “Absolutely delighted with our little Isabelle.
