direct to your inboxRepairs to a school are to take place to stop water leaking into classrooms and slates falling off the roof that ‘narrowly’ miss hitting people.Tameside council has approved an application for partial re-roofing works to take place at the Grade Two listed Fairfield High School for Girls in Droylsden.The board of trustees at the academy, on Fairfield Avenue had applied for listed building consent to fix a series of issues with the roof and windows in the historic school, which are putting it in breach of health and safety rules.The school, which was rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in 2013, was founded in 1796.However the planning documents by Lancaster Maloney submitted with the application reveal the effect the dilapidated.
