Schizophrenic grandson beat nan to death with rope and told her ‘I am The Devil’

dailystar.co.ukA mentally ill man beat his grandmother to death in their kitchen and afterwards declared “I am The Devil”. Marlene McCabe, 71, from Blackpool, Lancashire, was attacked by Conor Clarkson, 26, on September 4 last year.
During the attack, Mrs McCabe was punched to the kitchen floor of the family home by schizophrenic Clarkson – who’d lost his temper after drinking Stella Artois and vodka.
She was then pinned down as he inflicted a sustained assault using his fists and a weighted rope-knot doorstop. Mrs McCabe died from catastrophic head injuries.
Clarkson then chased his aunt into the street when she returned to the house in West Park Drive and said: "I am the devil. That's what happens when you mess with vampires." Mrs McCabe had earlier
