Joel and Ethan Coen have penned the movie's script Universal has tapped up Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino to helm its upcoming Scarface reboot.
Joel Coen and Ethan Coen have written the latest version of the script with earlier drafts by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer, Jonathan Herman and Paul Attanasio, and now, according to Variety, Guadagnino has been brought on board to direct.
The iconic 1983 movie – itself a remake of a 1932 movie that was loosely about Al Capone, which was adapted from a book – saw Al Pacino play Tony Montana, a Cuban drug lord in 1980s Miami.
It was a huge success at the box office upon its release and has had a significant impact on popular culture in the years since.
