Hey Luca? You wanna job? “Call Me By Your Name” director Luca Guadagnino has signed-on to take over an upcoming “Scarface” remake, Variety reports.
There are already two versions of the gangster classic, from 1932 starring Paul Muni and directed by Howard Hawks (“The Big Sleep”), and the notorious 1983 production starring Al Pacino and directed by Brian de Palma (“Mission: Impossible”).
Filling the director’s chair in the latest remake has been a complicated journey. The Italian filmmaker is the last of four directors to who unsuccessfully took on the remake, beginning in 2011, with producer Martin Bregman, who commissioned de Palma’s “Scarface.” His first choice was David Yates (“Harry Potter”) to direct the new script written by David
