Sara Davies has admitted that her "good friend" pretended to be a contestant on Dragons' Den to bag her a place on the panel.The BBC entrepreneur, who has recently teamed with Hasbro to launch the children's game, My First Monopoly, has been a panel member on the BBC show since 2019.The Durham native also runs a successful crafting company which she founded in 2005 and is a loving mum to her two boys aged eight and five.In an exclusive chat with Daily Star, Sara revealed how she bagged the opportunity of a lifetime and wound up as one of the most well-known entrepreneurs in the country.The mum-of-two explained: "I was part of an all-female investment group in the Northeast called Gabriel Investors and the guy that had done our marketing support with us became a good friend of mine, and he said you'd be absolutely brilliant on Dragon's Den and I said you know what, I think I would too because I'd really enjoy it, and he said well why don't you put your name forward for it?"She explained: "Well you don't just put your name forward for the BBC and he said well what do you do?

And I said well I'm hoping one day they might notice me and they might invite me to come and audition for the show."The business woman went on to say that her friend refused to wait until she got noticed and took it upon himself to ring the BBC because he thought she'd be "a really good dragon."She quipped: "The next day he rang and he went as though he was going through the application process to be a contestant on the show, and it was when he got through to one of the researchers to find out about his business, he said I'm not actually ringing about me, I'm ringing about my friend, I think she'd be a really good dragon on the show."Sara recalled that.
