London's landmarks will be urgently reviewed after protesters tore down a statue of slave trader Edward Colston in Bristol in a bid to ensure they reflect the capital's diversity.
The words "was a racist" were also scrawled in black paint on the Sir Winston Churchill statue in Parliament Square in the protests last weekend.
Mayor Sadiq Khan has also applied pressure on the Metropolitan police over its use of stop and search and Tasers in a bid to defuse tensions as fears grow that far-right groups could launch counter demonstrations.
