Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan has criticised the boarding up of the statue of Winston Churchill in Parliament Square – saying it "shames Britain".
Scaffolding and a barrier were placed around the monument and the nearby Cenotaph in Whitehall on Thursday evening.The two sites have been were boarded up for protection ahead of plans for three days of demonstrations in London.And the move to protect the Winston Churchill statue has angered Piers Morgan.In a tweet, the ex-Daily Mirror editor wrote: "This photo shames Britain."The fact Sir Winston Churchill’s statue has had to be boarded up to stop people vandalising it is disgraceful."He saved our country from the Nazis – and this is how we repay him?
