Ronnie O'Sullivan burst into tears after being crowned as the 2022 World Snooker Champion after beating Judd Trump 18-13 at the Crucible on Monday evening.O'Sullivan claimed his seventh triumph, despite a spirited performance from Trump, having won his first in 2001.
The Rocket dealt most of damage to Trump on the Sunday session as Trump looked like he may have a shout with his Monday performance.Trump brought the game to within four frames, but O'Sullivan's class oozed through as he dug deep to fend off his younger challenger.
O'Sullivan's win levelled Stephen Hendry's record of seven world title's - a record the Rocket thought he'd never get near.O'Sullivan and Trump went back and forth in the final frame as the pair looked to probe the other into a mistake.However, after Trump thought he had glued the white against a cushion, the Rocket played a superb cannon to finally break the deadlock.
