On Sunday night (June 28) the BET Awards celebrated its 20th anniversary — virtually, of course — with a special show that boasted the tagline: "Our culture can't be cancelled." Following a powerful opening performance from Public Enemy featuring teen gospel singer Keedron Bryant, and an impassioned opening from host Amanda Seales, Roddy Ricch was up.
The quickly rising rapper delivered such a high-quality virtual medley of "High Fashion" and his breakout hit "The Box" that it felt much closer to an intimate music video, complete with blue backlighting, a car as a prop and a dancer whose dress changed colors to the beat.
