Robert Aaron Long, 21, has been charged with multiple counts of murder after eight victims - including six women of Asian descent - were killed in the American state.
Police officers cannot yet confirm if the attack was racially motivated. The shootings took place at massage parlours in or near the city of Atlanta.
Amid an outpouring of support for the Asian community, Rihanna has said she is "heartbroken" at the events. She wrote on social media : "What happened yesterday in Atlanta was brutal, tragic, and is certainly not an isolated incident by any means.
