Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Rats running riot in scared neighbourhood as vermin 'chew through car wires'

Raw meat littered on a street has led to an infestation of rats that have started to chew through car wires in a terrified neighbourhood.A street in Coventry has found itself in the midst of a vermin infestation along with reports of fly tipping and piles of rubbish covering the road.Zia Khan, who is running as an independent candidate for Foleshill in the upcoming elections, has said the area has become "horrendous".He added that dead rats on the street were a daily occurrence despite Coventry City Council delivering three large skips for residents to use for their waste.Khan also stated that they are taking a number of steps to get the rubbish situation under control.

Speaking to Coventry Live, he said: "It is horrendous. Missed bin [collections] are adding to the problems we already have. "Everywhere we go we're seeing black bags, if you're in a wheelchair or a buggy you can't get past it, we're seeing that on a daily basis."Khan claims to have seen three different rats on various roads around the rubbish-clad streets of Foleshill last week.He added that the rats have caused damage to local property and vehicles, saying: "A resident who brought a new car, rats from the rubbish got under the wiring and she had to get it fixed."Rats are reportedly a growing problem in the area because of local businesses throwing raw meat onto the street, with Khan saying: "It has been going on for a year, [they throw] old meat they haven't sold."A council spokesperson said: "We have received reports from residents about issues with rubbish and rats in the Foleshill area and we have taken a number of steps to get this matter resolved."Our Pest Control team are already working in this area to tackle the rat population, and our Food.
