Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has been told he should have a word with Ryan Kent. That is the verdict from Alan Hutton, who spent eight years at the club.

It follows a piece of petulance the ex- Liverpool star committed against Lyon in a pre-season friendly. The 23-year-old did not take too kindly to a challenge and slapped his opponent.He was allowed to play the next match against Nice but it is not the first time the former Liverpool man has bent the rules.

And, for Hutton, it should be time Gerrard took him aside to have a conversation about his behaviour. “He’s had previous for it, he’s obviously got this little hot streak in him which is fine because some players thrive off that, they play better,” Hutton told Football Insider.
