The Queen has met her great-granddaughter Lilibet for the first time in a private meeting as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the UK for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have introduced their little girl to the Queen - with the monarch's childhood nickname being the inspiration for Lilibet's name.The pair are taking part in the Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen's 70 years on the throne, in their first appearance with the royal family after stepping down as working members of the family back in 2020.
A royal commentator has said that Meghan and Harry are hoping to be as “low-profile as possible” during their trip to the UK for The Platinum Jubilee - despite their appearance at the event being a significant occasion on its own.
