Princess Diana’s friend Rosa Monckton has praised Prince William for "standing up" for his mother after he said the BBC’s investigation into Martin Bashir's Panorama interview is a "step in the right direction".The Duke of Cambridge issued a statement in the wake of the review, which will see Lord Dyson, former Master of the Rolls, seek to discover Martin Bashir's steps to get Diana’s controversial television interview.Speaking to ITV, Ms Monckton said Prince William has become "deeply involved" in the story of how the interview came about and "how his mother was treated".She also said the interview changed "the course of history" and said it was important "that we look at it 25 years on".Ms Monckton said: "Any son would want to stand up.
