Prince Andrew has been allowed to stay in the Firm's £30 million Windsor mansion while his ex-wife recovers from breast cancer, it has been reported. The disgraced Duke has been locked in a battle over the Royal Lodge, after the King's budget cuts raised questions as to whether he could afford it, reports the Mirror. However, the bombshell news of ex-wife Sarah Ferguson's breast cancer diagnosis means the alleged plan to boot Andrew out has been quietly retracted - for now.The 64-year-old underwent a gruelling eight-hour mastectomy to get rid of the cancer, and is now recovering from the major surgery.Prince Andrew's fight to stay in the Windsor estate property has been going on for months, as reports noted he refused to leave amid his brother and King's plans to slash his current £250,000 income. This would mean Andrew would be unable to afford renovations on the home, after living there for 20 years since its former resident - the Queen Mother - passed away. The lease on the home is due to last another several decades, but the building is reportedly in dire need of renovations.Sources in close contact with Andrew said the King told him he would have to fund these refurbishments out of his own pocket - while he cut the family's budget from the Privy Purse.Royal insiders told Page Six the uncertainty over the divorcee's stay at the home have been made a low priority.

Andrew also has to pay out for the multi-million dollar settlement which was agreed with Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre in 2022.However, The Mirror understands £2million of this was contributed by the late-Queen Elizabeth II.
