Premier League stars are set to accept a 30 per cent wage cut - with the season being suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus crisis.
Top-flight clubs unanimously agreed last night to consult with their players on wage reductions and deferrals to help safeguard jobs belonging to non-football staff.
Premier League bosses will meet with the Professional Footballers' Association on Saturday in the hope of approving the idea.
League bosses and club representatives held a video conference, when it was decided the season would not start again until further notice.
