Premier League clubs agree to consult players over 30% wage decrease

Premier League clubs will ask their players to accept a 30 per cent wage cut and deferrals across the board to help the fight against the coronavirus.

The decision was agreed following a Premier League board meeting held via video conference call today. Premier League bosses have also admitted the season, suspended until April 30, will not be able to restart next month, although no new date has been set.

The current campaign has effectively been suspended indefinitely. While the Premier League have repeated their desire to get the season finished, no matter how long it takes, they will be guided by the Government on when it is safe to resume matches.
