The controversial host suddenly quit ITV's breakfast show on Tuesday evening after his comments on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's interview with Oprah Winfrey sparked fury.
A number of petitions soon started doing the rounds on the Internet demanding his return to hosting duties, which have since racked up more than 60,000 signatures.
But online jokers are having none of it, spamming the Twitter #BringBackPiers with snaps of some of their favourite...piers.
