Salford main road this afternoon, following a third shooting in the borough since Saturday. A number of houses on Cromwell Road were cordoned off and the road was closed off to traffic between Gerald Road and Lissadel Street, while police carried out their investigations.Pedestrians were also asked to walk on the other side of the road where possible, while marked and unmarked police cars, a tactical aid unit van, a specialist operations van, and a specialist search unit were all scrambled to the scene.

It comes just two days after a shooting in Littleton Road, Kersal. The close proximity of when the incidents happened, as well as the location, has left people shaken up.
