Police from three forces came together to tackle burglars who are targeting leafy semi-rural suburbs around the A6. The squad of about 20 cops, together with dog handlers and specialist traffic officers, spent two nights patrolling suburbs spanning Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Derbyshire.
Although crime has plummeted during lockdown, it is a sign that police are returning to more regular work. The patrols happened across two nights, concentrating on communities south of Stockport close to the A6 corridor: Heald Green, Cheadle, Bramhall, Wilmslow, Styal, Handforth, New Mills, Glossop, Whaley Bridge, Chapel-en-le-Frith and Disley.
