Emergency services remain on the scene.Eyewitnesses at the scene claim they can see an as-yet-unknown liquid leaking from one of the damaged carriages.A reporter also on-site for local media has reportedly been told the train was transporting petroleum.There is also a heavy fire brigade and police presence, and it is believed a number of people have been transported to hospital in the wake of the terrifying incident.Journalist Tori Yorgey, of WTAE-TV Pittsburgh, said three people have been rushed to hospital after 17 train cars derailed.
She wrote on Twitter: "Construction vehicle crossing tracks was hit by train—how it happened."Believed to have the gas/chemical carried by tankers contained, per Allegheny Co.
Emergency management."Video footage has emerged online which shows how close the incident was to the water. Norfolk-Southern railway company issued a statement and said the train belonged to them.
