PHILLIP Schofield says he came out to wife Steph’s parents as he made Christmas dinner - today revealing the kind words his father-in-law sent him after the bombshell.

The This Morning presenter, 58, was celebrating the festive period with his in-laws when he decided to reveal the truth. The Million Pound Cube host was making Christmas dinner at the time when his mother-in-law Jill paid him a kind compliment saying he was the "perfect man".

The telly favourite could not accept the kind words and decided to open up to Jill and Phil's father-in-law John about his sexuality.

Phil came out live on the ITV show in February, with the support of his wife of 27 years, Stephanie Lowe, 56, and daughters Molly 27, and Ruby, 24.
