Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony is leading a rebel gang of six clubs to try and stop League One from being finished.

MacAnthony says he has been approached by promotion hopefuls Oxford, Fleetwood, Portsmouth, Sunderland and Ipswich to lead a campaign to play out the remaining games.

There is a League One summit on Friday where they could vote to finish the season but civil war is already breaking out as some clubs are opposing it.

MacAnthony tweeted on Thursday night: “I have been asked to relay this message on behalf of Oxford, Fleetwood, Portsmouth, Sunderland, Ipswich and Posh to the EFL and media ahead of our League One meeting tomorrow. “We as a collective are united in our goal to finish this season.
